Richard Manning Braithwaite

Richard Manning married Eva Post, a local Williamsburg girl, about 1911.  He, along with his mother Delia’s half brother, Horatio Bucktrout, operated the Bucktrout Funeral Service.  When that was sold, he bought the Beale Roofing/Hardware business and home on the Duke of Gloucester Street which he ran as an auto supply business and gas station in that location until Colonial Williamsburg bought the property.  Richard and Eva had three children: William Henry, Richard Manning, and Evelyn.
